Sukumar Sen, a contemporary of the last century, dedicated his life to exploring a wide variety of subjects. At times, he was deeply involved in writing the history of Bengali or Indian Aryan literature, and at other times, he focused on the history of languages. In addition, he ventured from the history of words to the realm of culture, from the ancient texts to the portals of epics, from ghosts to detective stories, and from the grey pages of the banyan tree to the depths of history. His inquisitive mind first appeared in the pages of Prabasi in 1327. Since then, he continued to write countless essays on diverse topics throughout his life. Two volumes of his essays, scattered across various journals, have already been published. Now, the third volume has been released.

This volume is a collection of over a hundred essays. Almost every branch of human knowledge that he engaged with is represented in one or another essay in this collection. For the present and future generations, his varied thoughts are preserved within the two covers of this book.
