Kabir Swadharma by Sourindra Mitra [Hardcover]
Saurindra Mitra, the author of 'Khiti Akhiti Nepethye', was a polyglot, especially fluent in French, German, and Spanish besides English. Throughout his life, he traveled tirelessly in the world of European literature and thought. Along with his research on 'Khiti Akhiti Nepethye' during the seventies and eighties, this collection is published with some selected essays from his many published (in Desha, Chaturanga, etc.) and unpublished works on Rabindra's life and creation. In these essays, Rabindra's thought is discussed on the language of poetry, aesthetics of art, production of drama, and many other aspects of literature and art through comparison with the entire European world of thought. Through it emerges a map of Rabindranath's identification with Western literature and art and a monotonous discussion of his rejection of acceptance.
