Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was the leader of Indian Revolution. Not just an ideal leader or an orator, he was a philosopher, thinker and powerful writer. His numerous writings and sayings on different subjects at different times of his life, in different situations, in different countries are scattered in such a way that it is a difficult, research-intensive and painstaking task to publish them in the form of a whole collection of works. Anand Publishers has undertaken this work with the direct support of Netaji Research Bureau. As a result, not only is it possible to publish the entire collection in a coherent volume, but many rare and rare documents have been added from the Netaji Research Bureau's own collection. Many information, letters, writings, speeches, transcripts, photographs and statements that have not been published elsewhere, are not likely to be in the future. Eight volumes of the complete works of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose have been published earlier. The first volume contains Netaji's unique autobiography 'Bharat Pathik', two hundred and eight letters, essays addressed to the youth community and genealogy. The second volume includes Netaji's authoritative book 'Bharat Mukti Sangram', edited and intact. All contemporary opinions on A-Book have been compiled and appendices include a transcript of an interview in which Subhash Chandra explains his comments on A-Book on Fascism and Communism. The third volume consists of Subhash Chandra's own writings between 1923 and 1932 and about two hundred letters written to him, speeches entitled 'Godar Katha' and 'New In Search'. The fourth volume includes Bengali translations of two major English articles written during the Burmese captivity. In these two, the scope and depth of Subhash Chandra's study, the history of textile industry and the significance of the foreign textile boycott are covered. Apart from this, many statements and speeches of Subhash Chandra on various aspects of public life and society, an essay entitled 'Mantrabichara' and some letters were compiled. The fifth volume compiles more than one hundred speeches and writings of Subhash Chandra given and written between 1929 and 1933. During this time he was recognized as a unique and emerging public leader of the country, the main exponent of the Left in Indian politics. His address as the Mayor of Kolkata and Subhash Chandra's emotional farewell address to the people of Bengal. The sixth volume collects one hundred and eighty letters of Subhash Chandra and Emily Shankle and the appendix contains letters of Subhash Chandra to Saratchandra and Saratchandra to Emily. Volume VII contains letters, speeches and essays of a particular period of Subhash Chandra Bose. When Subhash Chandra left Calcutta for Europe on a KLM flight in November 1937, his name was proposed for election as the Congress-President. In 1937, Subhash Chandra was forced into exile in Europe in a very important chapter of his career. Volume VII contains letters, speeches and essays from that period. Along with more than two hundred previously unpublished letters, this volume contains several important political essays. For example, 'Anti-Imperialist Struggle and Communism', 'Europe Today and Tomorrow', 'Japan's Role in the Far East' and 'Arguments for and against Ministerialisation'. Subhash Chandra Bose was at a very important and high point in his political career as the elected President of the Indian National Congress in 1938. However, he eventually tendered his resignation amid strong opposition from right-wing Congress members and Gandhi. Volume VIII, from January 1938 to April 1939, i.e. immediately after his resignation, compiles his written and received correspondence and essays, articles, speeches. It includes his famous Haripura speech and important correspondence with Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and others. Subhash Chandra's resignation from the Congress presidency in April 1939 and his exodus from his Elgin Road house at midnight on 16–17 January 1941—between these two major events—Subhash Chandra took India on the path of alternative leadership. Instead of the Gandhian senior leadership, his alternative leadership was based on the anti-imperialist struggle and the establishment of socialism in the future. This period before the formation of Azad Hind Fauj and Netaji Abhidha was very important in Subhash Chandra's political life. Volume IX contains essays, statements, letters, and editorials written on this episode. 'My Political Statement' to the then Government of Bengal and Jaiprakash Narayan's secret letter to Subhash Chandra, the role of the Left in India's freedom struggle, the clash of rival imperialist powers in the wake of World War II, the need for Hindu-Muslim unity and the purpose of the Forward Bloc are the subjects of this compilation. The essays will enrich the reader interested in national and international politics.
