Rabindranath was endlessly creative. His journey is strange. This sage poet changed his residence many times in his long life. Is there any connection with his creation of the new 'Ujjbal Sundar Kshankhanda'? The houses that witness history have the status of preserved buildings? Suranjana Bhattacharya's book 'Kabir Awas', the result of long research, contains hundreds of Rabindra memorial homes in West Bengal and East Bengal (now Bangladesh) and three other residences in North, West, and South India selected from the pages of the poet's 'Jiwansmriti'. 'Abode of the Poet' has three episodes in the first volume - Thakurbari in Jorasanko, Zamindari in East Bengal, and Shantiniketan. The influence of Jorasanko's family environment on the development of Rabindra Pratibha, the quiet home life of the poet in Shilaidha, the inspiration for writing stories in Sajadpur, the implementation of the village development plan in Patisar, and the business initiatives in Kushtia are specially discussed. The 'Padmaboat' chapter shows how the nature and rural life of Bangladesh, which is a river, has influenced the poet's psyche. In the Shantiniketan episode, the poet's basic thoughts about the ideal living environment, housekeeping, decoration, and garden are discussed and his tendency to change his residence in the desire to escape from the routine is identified. In the light of this book, it can be seen how many abodes of Kabir are spread in the center and outskirts of the metropolis, on the banks of Padma-Ganga-Sabarmati, in rice-colored Palligrams, on hilltops, in pine forests, on the border of tea gardens, on the shores of the Arabian Sea. Suranjana Bhattacharya has done extensive research on Rabindranath's memorable abodes. In the first volume of the outstanding book 'Kabir Awas' there is a story about Jorasanko Thakurbari, the house with which he was born and died. There are accounts of living in Shilaidah, Padmabot, Sajadpur, Patisar, Kushtia in East Bengal (now Bangladesh) and various residences in Santiniketan. How many houses have poets lived in, meditating, intoxicated in endless creation-festival. 'Abode of the Poet' is included in the second volume—again Jorasanko, Elsewhere Elsewhere and Beyond the Borders of Bengal. In addition to some valuable additions about the poet's birth-death memories, this volume mainly contains relevant information about the poet's various periods of his life spent in the homes of relatives and friends. Sometimes he lived in various houses of Panihati, Kharda, Baranagar, Chandannagar, Chunchura; Ever lived in various buildings in Natore, Kalimpong, Darjeeling, Mongpu. An illustrated brief introduction to some of the habitats will enrich the reader. The poet's three temporary residences mentioned in Jibansmriti complete the in-exterior chronicle of Bakrota, Shahibagh and Karwar. It is thrilling to know that Rabindranath got the idea of this famous story seventeen years ago at the Motishahi Palace in Shahibagh, Gujarat, despite writing the story 'Khudit Pashan' in Sajadpur. Rabindranath's 'One Other Life' is 'Kabir Abas', the magical fruit of Suranjana Bhattacharya's painstaking research.
