Father Paul Datien took monastic vows and came to Calcutta in 1949. He was introduced to Sanskrit and Bengali languages in preparation for his arrival in India. Father Datien's Bengali studies began in Srirampur. To taste the best creations of Bengali literature, the French-speaking people of Belgium feel the distinctive sounds, history, and social life of different languages. Father started writing in Bengali language one day from that heart felt love. The 'torn pages of the diary' which aroused response were published in the 'Desh' newspaper. 'Rojnamcha' was published in Amrita magazine. Father Detien returned to the country in 1978. After a long time, since 2007, the amazing man is writing again in Bengali language. The 'prose collection' of this foreign magician of Bengali prose has been published, the pages of which are a unique example of love for the Bengali language. Distant people have become very close to us in their own talent.
