Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules is the entertaining sequel to the smash hit Diary of a Wimpy Kid. The story centers on 8th grader Greg Heffley, who faces typical middle-school struggles alongside a few unique ones. As Greg starts a new academic year, he reflects on his disastrous summer vacation and the constant threat of his older brother, Rodrick, who knows a secret Greg is desperate to keep hidden.

Greg navigates challenges like school talent hunts, friendships, and sibling rivalry, all while trying to escape the dreaded "cheese touch." His relationship with his best friend, Rowley, his mother’s attempts to make him and Rodrick act like normal brothers, and the humorous misadventures of middle school are all vividly narrated in a lighthearted, comedic style.

The book was released in 2008, following the 2007 success of the first Wimpy Kid book, and was adapted into a Hollywood movie in 2011. It spent 117 weeks on The New York Times Best Sellers list.
