The discussion of Rabindranath's creations and thoughts was the lifelong pursuit of Probodhchandra Sen. He undertook this pursuit with great dedication, viewing it through the lens of a historian and with a probing mind. Such a harmonious blend of literary and historical insight is rarely seen in discussions of Rabindranath’s works. Probodhchandra primarily provided an interpretative reading of Rabindranath’s creations, maintaining the historical context and continuity. His analysis mostly focused on Rabindranath's thoughts on education and religion, nationalism, rhythm, and the poet’s early works.

While his books on these topics are well-known among readers, many of his essays on the subject have not yet been compiled into books. On the occasion of Probodhchandra’s birth centenary, this collection presents some of those essays. Each essay in this collection is not only informative and analytical but also immensely important in the study of Rabindranath’s works. Particularly, it will be considered essential for critics of Rabindranath’s literature.

The poet Bihari Lal was once called the "bird of dawn" by Rabindranath. Probodhchandra showed that "all true poets are birds of dawn." In his view, "In our country, Rabindranath is the foremost of these dawn birds, the cuckoo. The sound of the arrival of the unarrived has repeatedly resonated in his voice."
