The beginning of Bengal's Renaissance started with Ram Mohan, but his path focused on the rational reform of Hinduism. After him, Deorazio came, following the path of reason and public welfare, without any direct connection to religion. The group of inspired students at Hindu College, led by him, is now known as 'Young Bengal', and they dedicated themselves to both rebellion against the conservative Hindu society of the time and the building of a new society. Though it began within a small circle, the wave of the Renaissance gradually intensified and spread from there. This book discusses the multifaceted work and influence of Deorazio, who passed away at a young age. He was born in Kolkata and considered himself Indian.
