Shahin, a poor boy from a humble home, comes to Canada to perform with a theater troupe from Dhaka. The wealthy world beckons him with promises of a better life. Dreaming of making a fortune, he enters the United States without a passport. Soon, he finds himself unable to return home. Working in a restaurant, Shahin starts sending dollars back to his parents every month, which slowly improves their financial situation. 

After playing a long game of hide-and-seek with the police, Shahin eventually receives a green card. Now, nothing stops him from returning home. But as soon as he sets foot in his village, Shahin realizes that he is now nothing more than a guest in his own country. The land has turned its back on him. This poignant tale of a Bengali's search for fortune abroad reveals the bittersweet reality of the immigrant experience, capturing the heartache and loneliness of being a foreigner even in one's homeland.
