সত্যজিৎ রায়ের অরো সত্যজিৎ
সত্যজিৎ রায়ের অরো সত্যজিৎ
This passage celebrates Satyajit Ray’s 70th birthday by highlighting his multifaceted genius as a writer. Despite starting his literary career late, around the age of forty—much like Parashuram—Ray quickly captivated readers with his diverse and extraordinary works. Though primarily known as a world-famous filmmaker, Ray's literary contributions, particularly in Bengali literature, are equally remarkable. From the thrilling detective adventures of Feluda to the fascinating scientific escapades of Professor Shonku, each of Ray’s stories offers a fresh and unique experience, never repeating themes or ideas.
In honor of his 70th birthday, a special collection titled Sera Satyajit was published, containing Ray’s personally selected best works. Due to the volume of material, another collection, Aro Satyajit, was released two years later, in conjunction with his 72nd birthday. This new collection includes a variety of Ray’s works—four Feluda mysteries, ten diverse short stories, four Professor Shonku tales, and even an unpublished novel. Additional gems include anecdotes from the making of Pather Panchali, discussions on Da Vinci and Tutankhamun, Ray’s first self-written poem, and unfinished pieces like his series on filmmaking, Sinemar Kotha, originally written for children.
Though Ray did not live to see this collection in print, he had approved and contributed to its contents, making it a fitting tribute to his unmatched creative legacy.
