Animesh is born in the Swargachura tea estate in the Dooars. There, he lives with his father, mother, grandfather, and uncles. He is surrounded by the Angrabhasa River, the scenic beauty of the tea garden, and Kali Gai. Growing up in such an environment, Animesh is no exception to the typical mindset of a child. He is soft-hearted, inquisitive, and altruistic. Generally, good students from the village with financial stability move to the city for better schooling. Animesh also leaves Swargachura to come to Jalpaiguri with his grandfather. There, he completes his secondary education from the district school and sets his sights on the dream city of Kolkata for higher education.

Animesh's formative years coincide with a critical period in Indian politics. The country has just gained independence, and everyone is then devoted to the Congress party. Being a young boy, Animesh naturally leans towards the Congress party without fully understanding it. He grows up with an interest in politics, discovering its various facets as he matures.
