Poet and novelist Sunil Gangopadhyay's plays and verse dramas offer a unique flavor. Sunil's love for theater has always been strong, and he was a regular, attentive viewer of Bengali theater. Despite his busy life, he occasionally performed in the amateur theater group "Budhsandhya." However, he was somewhat hesitant about writing plays, despite encouragement from his theater friends. He believed that without a deep understanding of the stage, writing a play is difficult. Nonetheless, the few plays Sunil Gangopadhyay did write, with his immense creative power, won everyone's hearts. Whether it was prose drama, radio drama, dialogue poetry, or verse drama—he succeeded in all forms. The fusion of Sunil as a playwright, storyteller, and poet resulted in astonishing creations. The collection "Natok o Kavyonatok Samagra" includes all of Sunil Gangopadhyay's verse dramas, prose dramas, and plays for children. The appendix also contains two incomplete translated plays and an additional version of another play by the author.
