In the uniquely geographic and naturally diverse region of Darjeeling, which is one of Feluda's favorite places and where he first began his detective work, his creator has presented an exceptional and engaging story.

A young film director who was working on a Hindi film in "Bombai er Bombayte" had come to Darjeeling to shoot his new film. This story also involves Jatayu. The director has extended a warm invitation to Jatayu, Feluda, and Topshe. Thus, Feluda arrives in Darjeeling, and, as strange luck would have it, he once again finds himself in the role of a detective.

The elderly homeowner, where the shooting took place, is murdered. He is a highly curious character—sleeping during the day and staying awake at night, collecting and filing cutting from newspapers of all the latest hot news. Who killed him? And why this murder?

The novel explores how Feluda unravels various intriguing clues by delving into the old man’s past and how these clues help resolve the entire mystery. The book's cover and illustrations are by Satyajit Ray.
