Gourkishore Ghosh not only draws the material for his novels from the outside world, but also from the vast world that exists within the human mind. This is why his novels often serve as a remarkable mirror reflecting the various scenes, events, and the complex interactions of the external world with the mental reactions of different individuals. In that mirror, we see reflected our hopes and despair, joy and pain, courage and fear, desire for victory and self-loathing, and even the irresistible urge to live alongside the inevitable presence of death. Sometimes, we are uplifted and energized by what we see; at other times, we are shaken with terror.

Gourkishore’s novels liberate us in many ways. He is not bound by any preconceived notions about life, and he does not allow his readers to be trapped in rigid beliefs either.
