Debarati Mitra’s Andhaskule Ghanta Baje was published in 1971, even before she graduated from college, marking her undisputed place in Bengali poetry from that moment on. In her early poetry, she portrayed the beauty and melancholy of a solitary young woman, where love was intense, sensual, and tinged with sorrow.
