Producer Saikat Sanyal was searching for a story for a horror film based on true events. He was introduced to the story by Ashim Banerjee. Maya Villa, an abandoned house located a little away from Diamond Harbour, is the setting.

During World War II, a mysterious family lived in Maya Villa. As Ashim researched the house's history and the supernatural folklore surrounding it, he became astonishingly unhinged while writing the screenplay. Subsequently, another screenwriter, Ramen Poddar, who took over the project, went missing.

Debraj, a humble journalist, arrives at Maya Villa to write the final report for his paper. There, he encounters another journalist, Isha Sen. Layer by layer, the narrative unfolds with thrills and eerie experiences, ultimately revealing the villa's strange and poignant history.
