Most of the stories are so-called ghost stories. There are also some science fiction stories. These narratives, too, are "otherworldly." All of them are written about beings that come from beyond our world.

Over the past fifty-four years, most of what I have written has been detective stories, as I have found the greatest joy in writing them. However, my acceptance as a writer among my readers seems to stem from one of my otherworldly tales, after which this series ("Ebong Kalratri 1" and "Ebong Kalratri 2") has been named. This book is a collection of supernatural or otherworldly stories. Most of these are so-called ghost stories, with a few science fiction tales. The presence of such stories might cause discomfort or annoyance to some readers. To them, I would like to present my argument: these narratives are "otherworldly." All of them are about beings that come from beyond our world. This book also includes someone else - a lonely "Damayanti." It is necessary to share with everyone that I do not know when the playmate will open the door to farewell at the age I have now reached. When that happens, my recent "mystery-seeking Damayanti novella" (Masaborer Guptadhan) will quietly be lost in the dust of time. Hence, as soon as this thought occurred to me, I hurriedly included this novella in the collection. Whether or not I have done the right thing, the readers will decide.
