About the book – The independence of Bangladesh in 1971 had come at the cost of the lives of many people, 30 lakh females were killed and over 4 lakh were raped. This book edited by Jharna Basu is the composition of experiences and cries of some homeless middle class mango people, illustrated by the photographs of late Kishore Parekh which were taken during the war of ’71. Editor – Editor of many other books Jharna Basu was born in Khulna district in 1952 now settled in Barasat, WB, India. She survived the independence war of Bangladesh and after completing her graduation from Rajshahi University continued to work as teacher in Bagerhat Girl’s College. Worth mentioning is her research work which was published as ‘Bonge Nari Shikhar Probortok Kali Krishna Mitra, Jug O Shadhona’.
