The style of the author is novel, indeed and is a much-needed break from the celebrated narratives of Bengali literature. This book has the uncanny ability to make you face yourself and question your hypocrisies and to help you rise above them simultaneously. Those pieces dedicated to love and despair are few of the best I have read in a long long time. The way in which the author has captured Kolkata deserves a special mention. Not only does it reveal his depth, but it also shows how cities are not only our homes but also our emotions. Chapters dotted with anecdotes of family trips are simply hilarious. Read in between the lines and you will understand this is our book! It belongs to us all as it has stemmed right from our collective existence.
