By then, the Kolkata phase had ended. Artist Sanat Kar had moved to Santiniketan, teaching in the Printmaking department at Kala Bhavana. The year was 1979. While engaging in teaching, he was also creating his own unique artworks. This notebook serves as the creative kitchen for those works. Page after page, ink, brush, and pen bring expressions and human faces to life through rhythmic washes. Various gestures emerge - within a single face, a thousand faces. Within these sketches and drawings lie the seeds of many of his printmaking works from that period. Additionally, the notebook contains drafts of personal letters and reflections on art, capturing the artist’s emotions and thoughts.
