Travelogues are a rich branch of Bengali literature, enriched by many writers, from Rabindranath Tagore to contemporary authors. Although stories and novels dominate our literature, Rabindranath once remarked that our literature focuses more on the "arrangement of a feast" rather than the "arrangement of strength." Despite the abundance of vibrant travel literature in Bengali, discussions about it are seldom seen. The author has merely initiated such a discussion. He himself is a well-known travel writer, engaged in creative writing as well as research work.

However, this book does not provide a complete history of travel literature. Instead, it serves as an introduction to how travel can liberate and refine the traveler’s mind and thoughts.
