Galpasamagra 1 by Bhagirath Mishra [Hardcover]
Galpasamagra 1 by Bhagirath Mishra [Hardcover]
Bhagirath Mishra is a person from a remote village, born and raised in the same village. He believes that the land known as India is essentially a vast feudal village. Even its cities and towns are merely an expanded version of that village. This rural India is the core of all of Srini's literary works. In fact, he is one of the most successful portrayers of rural Indian life in Bengali literature. To date, he has written over three hundred stories. His stories blend Bibhutibhushan’s nature consciousness with Tarashankar and Manik’s social awareness. Many of these stories have been published in various renowned journals both in India and abroad, and several have been translated into English, Hindi, and other Indian languages. His story The Islands won the All-India Katha Award, while Selected Stories received the Tarashankar Smriti Award. Another of his story collections, Labor and Music, has also gained significant recognition.
