Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose is the principal leader of the Indian freedom struggle. Not only was he an ideal leader and a powerful orator, but he was also a philosopher, thinker, and a prolific writer. Throughout his life, in different circumstances and countries, his writings and speeches on various subjects are spread widely, making it an incredibly difficult, research-intensive, and laborious task to compile them into a comprehensive collection. This monumental task has been undertaken by Anand Publishers with the direct assistance of the Netaji Research Bureau. As a result, it has been possible not only to publish his works systematically in volumes but also to include numerous rare and valuable documents from the Netaji Research Bureau's own archives. These include letters, writings, speeches, copies, photographs, and statements that have never been published before and may never be available in the future.

So far, six volumes of the complete works of Subhas Chandra Bose have been published. The first volume includes his unique autobiography Bharat Pathik, 208 letters, essays written for the youth community, and a family history. The second volume contains the definitive and revised version of his seminal work Bharater Mukti Sangram (The Struggle for India's Freedom), along with contemporary reviews and an appendix where Subhas Chandra Bose explains his comments on fascism and communism in the book. The third volume comprises nearly 200 letters written by Subhas Chandra Bose and to him between 1923 and 1932, along with his speeches Gorar Katha (The Beginning) and Notun-er Sandhane (In Search of the New). The fourth volume includes translations of two major English essays written by Subhas Chandra Bose during his imprisonment in Burma, which delve into the history of the textile industry and the significance of the boycott of foreign cloth. It also includes several of his speeches and statements on social issues, as well as an essay titled Mantrabhichar and some letters.

The fifth volume includes over 100 speeches and writings by Subhas Chandra Bose between 1929 and 1933. During this period, he was recognized as an emerging leader in India, primarily advocating for leftist ideologies. His emotional farewell speech to the people of Bengal, delivered as the Mayor of Kolkata, is also included. The sixth volume contains 180 letters exchanged between Subhas Chandra Bose and Emily Schenkel, along with an appendix containing letters between Subhas and Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay and between Emily and Sarat Chandra.

The seventh volume includes letters, speeches, and essays from a particularly crucial period in Subhas Chandra Bose's life. In February 1933, a frail and sick man was brought to Europe in an ambulance. In November 1937, the same man boarded a KLM flight from Kolkata to Europe, with his name being proposed as the Congress President. During this important phase of his life, he was forced into exile in Europe. This collection of letters, speeches, and essays documents his thoughts on a wide range of issues—imperialism, nationalism, fascism, democracy, psychology, philosophy, spirituality, urban planning, travel, Gandhi, Ireland, love, and more. The volume contains over 200 previously unpublished letters, as well as several important political essays, such as The Struggle Against Imperialism and Communism, Europe Today and Tomorrow, Japan's Role in the Far East, and Arguments for and Against Accepting Ministership.

Readers interested in national and international politics will find great value in reading these writings from this period, which offer rich insights into Subhas Chandra Bose's thoughts and vision.
