Nishad is a simple young man from the small town of Surulpur. Calm and non-confrontational, he came to Kolkata with high hopes. Although his results weren't extraordinary, he obtained a university degree. At home, his mother Nayanatara and younger sister Sindhura are waiting for him. His father, Shashwata Sengupta, was involved in politics. During that time, the party was in power, and Shashwata was an exceptionally honest man. He passed away, leaving behind an unfinished house and a lot of debt for the family.

The family is struggling. Nishad is trying his best to find a job, but the doors to decent, honest employment keep closing one after another. His mother is ill, his girlfriend has left him, and he has no place to stay in Kolkata. His friend Palash in the ruthless city extends a helping hand, but he too is unable to do much. Nishad meets his college senior, Aishanidi, who tries to help him.

Meanwhile, Sindhura's faith in her father's values and principles strengthens. While still in college, she joins a crumbling political scene. Another story unfolds around Sindhura. On one side, there are Meghporna, Palash, Aishani, Apurva Roy, and Gangamani from Kolkata. On the other side, there are Shashwata, Nayanatara, and Agnishra from Surulpur. The story stands face-to-face with faith and betrayal. Nishad meets his sister at a terrible time. He could never have imagined seeing her like this. Yet, somewhere, a light shines.
