Galpasangraha by Tilottama Majumdar [Hardcover]

This collection of stories, which spans nearly a decade, includes works written between 2007 and 2016. Tilottama Majumdar began her journey as a fiction writer in 1996. She has written nearly one hundred and fifty stories, many of which have been featured in Anand's 'ঋ' and 'পঞ্চাশটি গল্প'. The stories in this present collection, though previously published in various magazines and journals, are being compiled into a book for the first time. These stories are not included in her earlier books.

The stories demonstrate a variety of themes and experiments with language. They reflect different social contexts, individual experiences, the interplay between nature and human beings, and the conflicts between truth and falsehood, reason and irrationality. The narratives are diverse, colorful, and engaging, offering readers a fascinating journey through the author’s creative explorations.

Tilottama Majumdar

Tilottama Majumdar was born on January 11, 1966, in North Bengal, at the Kalchini tea garden. She completed her schooling at Union Academy School. In 1985, she moved to Kolkata for her undergraduate studies at Scottish Church College. She began writing in 1993. Her entire family is involved in literary pursuits, and her first inspiration for writing came from her elder brother. She loves music and traveling.

She received the Ananda Award (1409) for her novel 'Boshudhara', the Dettol-Ananda Bazar Patrika Sharad Arghya (1413) for 'Ektara', and the Bhagalpur Sharatsmriti Award (2007) for her contributions to literature.
