Chitre Prachin Bharat by Prabhat Mohan Bandyopadhyay [Hardcover]

Prabhat Mohan Bandopadhyay had a lifelong passion for history. Alongside reading the biographies and travelogues of Greek, Chinese, Arab, and European travelers who came to India, he visited various historical sites and museums. In his mature years, his artistic pursuit and historical knowledge merged successfully in the series "Glimpses of Ancient India" or "Chitre Prachin Bharat." Between 1966 and 1968, he created 25 paintings, later adding two more. He provided descriptions for each painting himself.

These paintings depict historical events from the era of primitive forest-dwelling humans to just before the arrival of Muslims in India. First exhibited in 1969, this valuable series showcases the social, economic, political, and other aspects of a vast period in history. "Chitre Prachin Bharat" is undoubtedly an exceptional creation.
