Tintorettor Jishu by Satyajit Ray [Hardcover]
Tintorettor Jishu by Satyajit Ray [Hardcover]
Feluda, Topshe, and Jatayu—an iconic trio in Bengali literature—have now arrived in the Eastern London, Hong Kong, to unravel a mystery.
Just as the backdrop of the story is diverse, the mystery itself is filled with novelty. It all begins with the murder of a dog, something not commonly heard of. Then follows a human murder. At the root of these killings lies a painting—but not just any painting. It is a painting of Jesus Christ by Tintoretto, a highly renowned artist from the late Renaissance, which sets the stage for this intricate tale.
This invaluable painting, worth around 20 to 25 lakh rupees, somehow ends up in a place like Baikunthapur. How the painting was then smuggled all the way to distant Hong Kong, how Feluda and company tracked down the smuggler to Hong Kong, and in the process, uncovered many more unknown secrets, is the gripping story of Tintorettor Jishu (Tintoretto’s Jesus). Or, in Jatayu’s words, "Hong Kong-er Himsim" (The Hong Kong Hurdle).
The cover and illustrations of the book are done by Satyajit Ray.
