"Buddhadeb Bosu went to Indiana University in the United States for teaching. One of the main topics of his teaching was the comparative study of Indo-European epics, such as the Iliad, Odyssey, and Aeneid, along with the Mahabharata and Ramayana. This comparative study inspired him to write a book on the Mahabharata. A decade later, he authored 'Mahabharat er Katha,' a remarkable book in Mahabharata studies. The comparisons and contrasts also brought up the Ramayana and other Puranic texts. Western classical and contemporary literature, along with some indigenous examples, were also mentioned.
