"Shaoli Mitra Shaoli Mitra was born in Kolkata in 1948. Her parents were the theatrical personalities Shambhu Mitra and Tripti Mitra. Naturally, she grew up and matured in the environment of theater, where the primary commitment was to societal responsibility. Gradually, theater became her way of life. Her parents were her teachers. She made her stage debut in a play produced by Bahurupi, the theater group founded by her father, Shambhu Mitra. In 1983, she started her own organization, Pancham Vaidic, with her play 'Nathvati Anathbat.' Among the founding members were Shambhu Mitra and Tripti Mitra. Her next play, 'Katha Amritasaman,' was also well-received by the audience. From 1983 to 2005, she worked consistently as a theater director. She continued to act on stage until 2011. Currently, her theatrical activities are limited to script reading and acting. In addition to the two plays, she has published books of essays, stories, and biographies. Her plays have been translated into English. Her book of essays 'Tarpan' has been translated into Hindi under the title 'Putri Ka Kathan.' She is currently the president of the West Bengal Bengali Academy. She is editing the collected works of Shambhu Mitra. She has been honored both nationally and internationally."
