Ekti Chumban Ekti Dynamite by Subodh Sarkar [Hardcover]

Subodh Sarkar was born on October 28, 1958, in Krishnanagar. A son of a refugee family, he lost his father while he was in the eighth grade. An English language and literature professor, he teaches at City College. His poetry has taken him to countries like the USA, France, Germany, Greece, Russia, Taiwan, and Istanbul.

Along with his late wife, poet Mallika Sengupta, he co-edited the magazine Bhashanagar. He has also served as the editor of the English journal Indian Literature published by the Sahitya Akademi in Delhi.

Sarkar has received the Sahitya Academy Award (2013), the Binod Shakti Chattopadhyay Award, and the Bangla Academy Award. Additionally, he has been honoured with the Gangadhar Meher National Award from Sambalpur University and honorary D.Litt. degrees from Gour Banga University and Vidyasagar University.

In 2016, he taught at the University of Iowa in the USA as a Fulbright Fellow and participated in an international writers' camp with poets and writers from 33 countries.

He currently resides in Seriti, Kolkata, with his son Roro. Subodh Sarkar was the first president of the Paschim Banga Kabita Academy (West Bengal Poetry Academy).
