Aam Atir Bhepu by Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay [Hardcover]

The novel Aam Aatir Bhepu is specifically written for children and is not a full-length novel. It is a slightly condensed version of the "Aam Aatir Bhepu" section from Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay's most famous novel Pather Panchali. At the request of Dilip Kumar Gupta, who was renowned as the most tasteful publisher of Bengali books at the time through Signet Press, Bibhutibhushan himself simplified and shortened this section, giving it its current form as Aam Aatir Bhepu. Signet Press published the book, enriched by the remarkable cover and illustrations of Satyajit Ray. While working on the illustrations for this Aam Aatir Bhepu, Satyajit Ray became interested in making a film based on the Pather Panchali novel, which eventually led to the creation of the film Pather Panchali. This film marked his debut as a world-renowned filmmaker.
