Despite having their own medical institution in their homeland, they sought refuge from the political turmoil, corruption, and loss of values in the country during the 1980s and 1990s. Having previously traveled to England for higher education and possessing academic qualifications, they planned to live abroad once more. Despite the risks, they left their homes, cars, and nursing homes in the trust of their relatives and set off across the ocean. Thus began another chapter in their lives.
