Hastini Chanchalpiari is the first exposure of his childhood memories. The pond in which Chanchalpiari used to bathe—standing on its banks, he called her Aay Aay. Little by little this childhood became involved in the larger context of his zamindari. His paternal grandfather Raja Jagatkishor Acharya dipped a khag pen in milk and gave it to him. Sometimes his life started in his father's uncle's house (matulalay) in Muktagacha, and sometimes in his own zamindari in Kalipur. Once they had to leave the life of elephants full of pilchards, ponds full of fish, crops full of shells, and leisurely sports and come to Calcutta. Studying in Presidency College and life struggle began. This book contains the memoirs of elephant expert Dhritikant Lahiri Chowdhury and has a rich presentation of his life journey across the country and abroad. Along with his collection of valuable pictures.
