Shyamal Chakraborty: Born in Kashi. His ancestral home is in the village of Agrakunda in the undivided Nadia district. He received his education in Kashi and Patna. His professional career began and concluded in the Language Department of the Bihar Government. He has notable proficiency in the Hindi language. His original Hindi plays were regularly broadcast from the All India Radio Patna station. He served as the president of Chaturanga, a once-renowned theatre group in Bihar, for ten consecutive years. He is the former General Secretary of the Bihar Bengali Association and a former member of the Executive Committee of the Bihar Rabindra Parishad. His self-written Hindi and Bengali plays of various themes have been performed on multiple stages in Patna. For his significant contributions to the Hindi language, he received special recognition from the Government of Bihar. After retirement, he is currently residing in Kolkata.
